I am an associate professor in Multicultural Women’s and Gender Studies at Texas Woman’s University. My book Liberation in Print: Feminist Periodicals and Social Movement Identity analyzes US feminist newsletters and newspapers published in the 1970s. In addition to feminist print cultures, I write and teach about the intersections of art, creative worldbuilding, and activism; feminist pedagogies and online teaching; the histories of women’s and gender studies; and the forms and practices of archiving. Part of my commitment is to amplify the presence and radical energy of art in the world, so I’m grateful to work with the Denton Black Film Festival Institute and to edit the online, open access journal Films for the Feminist Classroom. When I’m not teaching, I find nourishment in riding my bicycle, finding adventures with new foods and recipes, finding new ways to live more sustainably, and listening to the birds in my backyard.
